Yellowbirds (3.5-4 Year Olds)
In all our age groups we focus on the developmental domain areas of intellectual/cognitive/problem solving, physical/perceptual motor development, language/communication, and social/emotional development. Each class revolves around providing a child-friendly learning environment where children can learn through exploration and play. There will be teacher-directed activities such as circle times, story reading, hands-on math and science experiments, literacy projects and phonics, music and movement, and fun learning games. However, most of your child's learning will occur through child-directed play such as block play, family/house play, puzzles and perceptual toys, math games, journal writing, creative art, outdoor play, and sensory activities such as sandbox, water play, rice or cornmeal play. The Yellow Bird and Blue Bird classes focus on additional kindergarten readiness skills, and each group adjusts the learning and play based on a child's individual needs.
